Chairman Zou Weimin meets with new Ambassador to China Mr. Mbelwa Kairuki in the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania,Beijing

On the morning of October 25, Mr. Zou Weimin, Chairman of the Corporation, went to the Tanzanian Embassy in China to meet with Mr. Mbelwa Kairuki, the new Tanzanian Ambassador to China. Both parties held talks in an amicable atmosphere and made in-depth exchanges and discussions on Tanzania's mineral resources, infrastructure and the tourism project in Zanzibar.

Zou Weimin expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Mbelwa Kairuki for his reception and introduced China Metallurgical Group Corporation(Hereinafter referred to as MCC) and China Metallurgical Group Corporation Overseas (Hereinafter referred to MCC Overseas) to the ambassador briefly . As a central enterprise in China, MCC has four main business segments, namely general contracting of projects, real estate development, resources development and equipment manufacturing. The Corporation ranked 120th among the world's top 500 and was successfully listed in Shanghai and Hong Kong in 2009. As an important force in the development of MCC's overseas market, MCC Overseas has established offices and subsidiaries in more than 10 countries and regions, and its business covers more than 30 countries and regions including Asia, Europe, Oceania, America and Africa. Mr. Zou Weimin also briefed the ambassador on his own experience of leading a delegation to visit the Department of Finance, the Minister of Transportation and President of the Investment Center in Tanzanian and Zanzibar in December 2016. Mr. Zou added that he had worked on a Nigerian project for three years. He had deep feelings for African people and countries and hoped that through those talks, the Corporation could continue to carry out in-depth cooperation in various fields in Africa to benefit African people and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Ambassador Mbelwa Kairuki expressed his gratitude and welcome Mr. Zou Weimin’s visit. He said that Tanzania and China have always maintained friendly relations and formed a strong friendship. Tanzania has an urgent need for mineral resources, real estate development and electric power. Tanzania plans to relocate its capital in five years and that will spur on the implementation of a large number of infrastructure, real estate and energy projects. Tanzania hopes to cooperate with companies such as MCC to help Tanzania complete capital relocation related work in the form of BOT and PPP projects with MCC's superior technologies and capabilities. The Ambassador also expressed he would fully support and cooperate with MCC Overseas' visa applications, talk with related ministries of Tanzania, recommend MCC and promote the smooth and successful operations of MCC Overseas in Tanzania.

Lusakaro Gwasa, Commercial Counselor of Tanzania to China, Yu Zhongliang, Deputy Chief Engineer of MCC Overseas, and Ge Yanping, Manager of Marketing Department, also participated in the above activities.
