OUR HISTORY

Our History

MCC International Incorporation Ltd (“MCC International”) originated from a functional department for overseas business development under China Metallurgical Group Corporation (“MCC Group”), on the basis of which, MCC Group International Engineering Corporation, a simulated artificial person entity, was established at the end of 2003. In September 2006, MCC International was officially registered as a legal entity, as part of MCC Group’s endeavor to consolidate its overseas business. Further decision was made at an executives’ meeting of MCC Group on February 17th 2013 to upgrade MCC International to a group company, hence the new MCC International. The new MCC International, with a registered capital of RMB 100 million, is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Metallurgical Corporation of China Ltd (“MCC Ltd.”). In accordance with MCC Group’s instructions, the integration of Minmetals Engineering Co., Ltd (“Minmetals Engineering”) into MCC International was initiated in July 2018 and completed in January 2019; MCC Overseas Ltd (“MCC Overseas”) was merged into MCC international in September 2019; MCC Mining (Western Australia) Pty Ltd (“MCC Mining”) and MCC Australia Holding Pty Ltd (“MCC Australia Holding”) were also placed under the umbrella of MCC International in April 2020.

Minmetals Engineering, whose predecessor is the Equipment and Engineering Department of China National Minmetals Co., Ltd. under Minmetals Development Co., Ltd., was established on December 7th 2007 with a registered capital of RMB 80 million and integrated into MCC International in January 2019.

To implement the EPC Contract works of the Sino Iron Project in Australia, MCC Mining was incorporated in Perth, Western Australia with a registered capital of AUD 100 in February 2007. The capital of MCC Mining was raised to AUD 1 million on March 7th 2008 and later to AUD 20 million on November 20th 2009.

In August 2008, MCC Group filed the application to the Ministry of Commerce of China for the establishment of MCC Australia Holding to develop the Cape Lambert Iron Project. Such application was approved by the Ministry of Commerce in September 2008. In December 2019, MCC Group arranged for an alternative agreement between MCC Mining and MCC Australia Sanjin Mining Pty Ltd. (“MCC Sanjin”) to transfer the assets of the Cape Lambert Project to MCC Sanjin. MCC Sanjin is fully responsible for the development of the Cape Lambert Project henceforth as part of the mineral resources development undertakings of MCC Group. MCC Australia Holding was merged into MCC International in May 2020.

By far, having consolidated the strengths of the above five companies, new MCC International has established itself as the only flagship subsidiary of MCC Group and China Minmetals Corporation specializing in overseas engineering and construction.
